The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) is a statutory body charged with the mandate to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of sex, marital status, pregnancy, breastfeeding, disability, family status and race, as well as to eliminate sexual harassment, breastfeeding harassment, and harassment and vilification on the grounds of disability and race. Analyst Programmer
Monthly salary of HK$39,560 to HK$75,620) The Duties - Design and develop computer system software and application programs for in-house use in the Commission; collect and analyze user requirements, perform system, database and architectural design according to the project requirements
- Manage the Commission’s IT infrastructure including the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of computer hardware and networks and the software development; ensure the performance, security and availability of all IT systems
- Provide day-to-day support to manage all IT systems used in the Commission, and to solve any problem encountered by users related to the use of IT systems
- Follow up on the procurement of IT equipment, systems and software
- Maintain inventory records of all computer hardware and software used in the Commission
- Assist in managing outsourced projects and vendors
- Monitor the work of vendors for the management and maintenance of all IT equipment, systems and software
- Undertake any other duties as assigned, including but not limited to internal transfer to other divisions within the EOC
The Person - Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Engineering or related disciplines
- With at least three years of post-graduated full-time working experience in IT system analysis and design, development and deployment
- Solid and hands-on experience in IT operations including computer equipment, system and network management, database administration and technical support
- Good knowledge and experience in developing software in Windows and Linux environment with ASP, .NET, C#, JavaScript, NodeJS, ReactJS; developing database applications using SQL, Oracle and MongoDb; and developing web-based applications including JSON, HTML and JavaScript
- Knowledge of PHP, Python, Java (J2SE), Linux shell script, C/C++ and Docker will be an advantage
- Sound understanding of IT infrastructure and best practices including network, computer systems, databases and security technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attentive to details and well-organised
- Able to work under pressure and proactively meet strict deadlines
- Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently
- Able to handle multi-task work and manage multiple demands and priorities
- Effective interpersonal skills; a good team player
- Proficiency in Chinese and English
- General awareness of issues relating to discrimination and equal opportunities; and committed to EOC’s vision and mission
