Responsibilities
- Assist Project Director in managing and planning all capital/non-capital works projects of the Corporation to ensure projects are accomplished in time, within budget, to required quality and safety standards;
- Participate in project management of MEP systems from design stage, construction stage, handover stage till completion of DLP;
- Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders in accomplishing project objectives. Provide technical support and expert advice on discipline-related issues to other members of the project team, as well as to in-house staff of other divisions;
- Prepare procurement documents for selection/appointment of consultants and to follow up on subsequent management and monitoring of their performance;
- Consolidating project requirements from various stakeholders in finalizing project briefs, and to co-ordinate with the project team to produce preliminary and detailed designs, tender/construction documents, and to manage the procurement and construction process;
- Independently handle improvement and minor works, including term contracts, defects-rectification works, fitting out, alteration and addition works. Production of drawings/tender documents for selection/appointment of contractor/s and drawings/graphics for presentation;
- Develop the Internal MEP QA system, Practice Notes and Benchmarking etc..
- Supervise the sub-ordinates to ensure works are completed in order.
- Work closely with different internal and external stakeholders including consultants, government departments and relevant organizations on project planning, design and implementation;
- Prepare Papers and Reports for approval by the Board, Committees and Task Force of the Corporation;
- Ensure compliance with the Corporation’s guidelines and Delegation Authority for capital works projects;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Building Services, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline/qualifications or equivalent
- Possess 10 years of experience, but ideally with 12 years, in building services design, ELV/IT/Smart system design, project management of which at least 6 years should be at supervisory level
- Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
- Member of a recognized local professional institute in the discipline of CEng, HKIE or related disciplines
- A track record of consultants, project management, contract administration of large scale projects
- Experience in different scale projects ranging from Laboratory, Hospital, Hotel, A&A works, renovations to new built construction would be an advantage
- Knowledge in BIM/ Carbon Neutrality/ BEAM Plus/ MIC/ MIMEP is an advantage
- Valid certification of Construction Industry Safety Training Certification
- Good leadership, analytical and communication skills
- Proactive, self-driven and detail-orientated
- Able to work under pressure
- Proficiency in both written and spoken of English
- Good knowledge in AutoCAD and MS Office applications
